Land one or two at all, then go back into hiding. Each shot still has a chance to kill most opponents outright. The reduced damage can scare players away, but think of this as maximizing a brief window for headshots. The next five arrows fire instantly at reduced damage.Kiriko isn't a hard counter so much as a good piece of utility to have in Overwatch 2 in general.RELATED: Overwatch 2: Torbjorn Guide (Tips, Abilities, And More) Storm Arrows Protection Suzu counters Dragonstrike and also can give a teammate with poor positioning a quick second to recollect themselves. Kitsune Rush makes a great and quick engage tool. Much in the same way, Kiriko is going to be a great asset to have as well. Counting in your tank and pushing with a Speed Boost is going to instantly counter that Hanzo out. Playing footsies in the chokepoint while Hanzo peppers your team always sucks. And you're not going to feel too badly about increasing the tempo either. A successful boop either removes the threat for the time being or forces his Lunge out early. Hanzo is going to favor high-ground positions more often than not, so it is possible to displace him. While this doesn't directly counter Hanzo, Mercy limits his strengths. On top of that she can erase some early picks Hanzo can create with some lucky arrows. With her strong movement and vertical nature, she's a difficult target for the Hanzo to pin down. Ramattra can make repositioning for Hanzo difficult while also having the ability to run him down should he take an aggressive flank. Sigma has the luxury of being able to both eat Hanzo's ultimate and stun him if he re-peaks the same angle too many times. Sigma and Ramattra can both just mark the Hanzo with their shields respectively. This hamstrings Hanzo's DPS and forces him to change his positioning to either being riskier or gives you breathing room while he repositions. A Reinhardt that can mark the enemy Hanzo and keep his barrier healthy makes the archer's life a nightmare. Reinhardt, Sigma, Ramattra are all solid choices for this style of countering Hanzo. Look for heroes that are going to be able to cut down his avenues of attack. Being able to pressure the Hanzo from a distance while also being relatively safe? Count us in! Tank Tanks are going to be the crutch here if you truly want to counter Hanzo into oblivion. This makes Echo and Pharah fairly tank threats. Being able to effectively hit shots on aerial moving targets at range is difficult. Hanzo has to play from mid-range to consistently be effective, but on top of that his primary fire does suffer from some serious bullet drop. Instead try more vertical heroes like Echo, Pharah or even Genji. The last thing you want to do is get logged in because Hanzo saw you take a route with his Sonic Arrow. Try and stay away from heavy flank characters like Tracer or Sombra. This should be a hard counter but it comes down to skill. As Widowmaker you should be able to dominate the angle the Hanzo wants to take and force a reposition. It can be a counter, but the rest is going to be up to you. DPS Widowmaker just outranges the enemy Hanzo. Keeping forward momentum while also having strong tanks and DPS to limit his sightlines or bait his attention are going to be important. Yes, he is often played like a sniper, but that limits his overall DPS. This makes him more poke oriented than most Overwatch 2 players would expect. Hanzo wants time to both create picks through stray arrows or pressure your tank with Storm Arrows. So, how do you counter Hanzo? Speed and sight are keys. Even look down a hallway in Overwatch 2 only to have your head pierced by an arrow? The mid-range archer has always been a sore spot for Overwatch players of any rank. Hanzo was a problem in Overwatch 1 and nothing has changed in Overwatch 2.
